Projects, Up Close
The projects shown here reflect how A Perfect Project approaches the work: planning first, attention to detail throughout, and the judgment to exercise restraint when restraint is the better choice, so the right work gets done the right way.
What Connects the Work
Some projects are complete transformations. Others are focused improvements. What connects them is not size, but intention, knowing what matters, whatโs worth doing, and how to bring it across the finish line.
Each project is approached as a problem to be solved thoughtfully, not just a task to complete. Together, these projects illustrate the type of work APP takes on and the level of care applied to every detail.
Murphy Bed Design & Build
This custom Murphy bed was designed to solve a very real constraint: an exceptionally small room measuring just 8 feet wide by 11 feet long that needed to serve multiple purposes. The goal was to create a space that functions as a bright, usable office most of the time, while easily converting into a comfortable guest bedroom when family visits.
The solution was a wall-mounted cabinet designed to house a full queen-size mattress without overwhelming the room. When closed, the unit reads as built-in cabinetry with open shelving. When opened, those same shelves become the structural legs of the bed, allowing it to pivot smoothly into place and lock securely for use. Rounded vertical elements were intentionally shaped to guide the motion of the bed as it transitions, ensuring both clearance and stability.
The result is a room that transforms in minutes, shifting from workspace to sleeping space without compromise. Itโs a project rooted in careful planning, spatial awareness, and restraint, where every design decision serves both function and comfort in a limited footprint.

Sconce Lighting Install
Wall-mounted sconces were installed to provide balanced, functional lighting in a bathroom setting. Placement, height, and alignment were carefully considered to ensure even illumination without glare. Proper mounting and clean electrical connections allowed the fixtures to integrate seamlessly into the space while maintaining a calm, finished look.

Ceiling Lights, Curtains, Blinds, Television, Mirror and Picture Hanging
A series of finishing installs were completed to bring rooms across the finish line with a clean, intentional look. Ceiling lights were mounted securely and aligned for balanced function and appearance. Curtain rods and blinds were installed with careful measuring and leveling to ensure smooth operation and consistent spacing. Televisions, mirrors, and artwork were mounted using proper anchors and layout planning so each piece feels secure, centered, and thoughtfully placed within the space. These details may seem small on their own, but they make a significant difference in how finished and comfortable a home feels.

Bathroom Design & Renovation
This bathroom renovation was approached as a series of carefully planned improvements rather than a single, rushed overhaul. Every decision, from layout to materials, was made with long-term use and visual clarity in mind. The result is a space that feels lighter, calmer, and more intentional, proving that thoughtful planning and sequencing can transform how a room functions and feels.

Smoke Detector Replacement
A full replacement of outdated smoke detectors was completed after identifying units that had exceeded their recommended service life. Updating these devices improves safety, reliability, and peace of mind, especially in older homes where systems are often overlooked.

Outdoor TV Cabinet Design & Build
A custom outdoor cabinet was designed to protect an indoor television from weather and wind. Sealing, airflow, and structural stability were all considered during the design.
The cabinet has performed reliably through multiple seasons without compromising usability.

Shower Door Install
A frameless glass shower door was installed using specialized tools and precise measurements. Careful attention was paid to alignment, spacing, and plumb so the door operates smoothly and remains reliable over time. The minimal profile keeps the room visually open and uncluttered.

Bathroom Ventilation Fan Upgrade
An existing bathroom exhaust fan was upgraded to improve ventilation, reduce humidity, and operate more quietly. The opening was carefully adjusted to accommodate the new unit, ensuring a clean fit without compromising the surrounding ceiling. Proper sizing and installation help manage moisture effectively, protecting finishes and improving comfort while keeping the system unobtrusive.

Electrical Controls & Outlet Replacement
Dimmer switches and updated controls were installed to allow spaces to shift easily between practical use and relaxation. Electrical outlets and switches were replaced where needed to improve reliability and appearance. Small updates like these can have an outsized impact on how a space feels.

Smart Toilet Install
A smart toilet was installed after addressing underlying structural support and preparation requirements. These fixtures require thoughtful planning, including nearby power access and proper setup. Features such as automated operation, heating, and integrated washing significantly elevate daily use and comfort.

Faucet Installation
A new bathroom faucet was installed with attention to proportion, alignment, and clean connections. Careful execution ensured reliable operation while preserving a finished, integrated appearance that complements the surrounding fixtures and materials.

Shed Design & Build
This custom shed was designed and built to meet local code requirements and approved by the Charleston Board of Architectural Review. Every aspect, from layout to construction and finish work, was handled with durability and visual integration in mind. The finished structure blends seamlessly into its surroundings while providing practical, long-lasting storage.

New Bathroom Vanity Install
A freestanding vanity was installed and carefully customized to accommodate existing plumbing conditions. Structural integrity was preserved while achieving a clean, finished appearance. The result is a vanity that feels intentionally integrated rather than simply placed.
